It combines a PM2.5 sensor based on laser scattering technology and a CO2 sensor employing advanced Non-Dispersive Infrared (NDIR) principles. VOC Classification for Intelligent HVAC Intake Control

Complementing the AIS-8100, Cubic AQM-1020 Air Quality Module addresses another essential air quality dimension—volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Based on MEMS (Microelectromechanical Systems) metal oxide semiconductor gas sensing technology, AQM-1020 is designed to detect both oxidizing and reducing gases in the vehicle’s ambient environment. It classifies external air quality into defined levels and transmits the data via LIN interface, enabling precise control of HVAC air intake modes.

The AQM-1020 offers fast response time, high selectivity, and strong resistance to environmental interference. Its robust design, automotive-grade circuitry, and long service life make it ideally suited for integration into mass-production vehicle platforms. When implemented alongside AIS-8100, it provides a more holistic air quality management solution—enabling vehicles to automatically switch between fresh air and recirculation modes, and to maintain optimal comfort and air hygiene for all occupants.
